The story is told from multiple points of view and it takes place in France and USA, which is Musso's favourite writing thingy lol. Ive read a couple of books written by Musso before , maybe thats why I didnt find this book neither original nor surprising , the story is fine , that's it. Anyone involved in the case were destroyed in order to remove traces. Thriller and dramatic to the end, the characters have complex interlocking relationships. A story just like "The sky is falling" by Sidney Sheldon, want to read again. May 30, Jane rated it it was amazing. This is his best so far, a real page turner -such suspense Bravo! View 1 comment. Jan 27, Cora rated it it was amazing. Coup de. I brought this book with me on a city break and in many ways it was the perfect book to read while travelling. The writing is simple and easy and the chapters are short.
That being said I found it quite dull. I bought the book on offer and wasn't too sure what to expect. After finishing it I'm still not sure if the author intended to write a fast-paced thriller or a mysterious romantic suspense novel. Neither succeeded in my opinion. There were some twists, but nothing really shocking or maybe I just didn't really care at that point. Jul 12, Alia rated it did not like it. I didn't finished it.
Couldn't cared less about the fate of Brooklyn girl. Jun 13, Daniel Balici rated it really liked it Shelves: read-in , guillaume-musso. I always feel enthusiastic when I come back to Guillaume Musso's books, a very successful French writer whose literary works are appreciated by the Romanian readers as well. I have already read all of his novels which were translated in Romanian and except Central Park I thoroughly enjoyed the others.
I actually own other three books written by him but they are unfortunately in French and I haven't had enough courage yet to start them. It is well known that while reading a book written by I always feel enthusiastic when I come back to Guillaume Musso's books, a very successful French writer whose literary works are appreciated by the Romanian readers as well. It is well known that while reading a book written by Guillaume Musso one has the impression that he is watching a movie.
The story is told from multiple points of view and it takes place in France and USA, a setting recognizable in all of the books written by Musso.
The main characters are Raphael, a successful writer who took a hiatus once his son was born and the mother didn't want to be involved in raising her child, and the mysterious woman he has been dating for 6 months, Anne Becker. They live an idyllic love story until Raphael wants to know everything about Anne's past. She shows him a photo of three carbonized bodies and she tells him she is responsible of those people's deaths.
At first Raphael is horrified and leaves the hotel where Anne and he checked in while on a weekend trip to The Cote D'Azur. When he comes back it seems that Anne has left but soon he discovers that she was actually kidnapped. While trying to find his girlfriend, Raphael learns shocking things about her past.
I was taken by surprise by the direction to which the story progressed. Anne certainly hid a lot of things about her past from Raphael. The writing is typical Guillaume Musso, full of details, some unnecessary, but overall enjoyable. Also there are way to many quotes in this book.

All in all, I couldn't put this book down and I definitely recommend it to anyone who speaks French or there is a translation of this book in their mother tongue. Aug 03, Cyrine Hamzaoui rated it really liked it.
I likd this book like any other musso book ,i like his special style of writing that makes it a "page turner" book, but what i didn't like about this book that it's really slow!
